Lazio advance to Champions League group stage

Tommaso Rocchi was the man of the match for Lazio following two goals and an assist, which paved the way for the Biancocelesti to reach the Champions League group stage.
The first half was a poor affair played at very low rhythms by both teams. In fact Dynamo Bucharest took the lead in the 26th minute without having much to do as Bratu took advantage of a defensive blunder by the Lazio defence in the only real opportunity of the first half.
The Biancocelesti did not deserve to go behind, but Delio Rossi's side did very little to try and score, with the Italian team only really trying to push forward in the last 10 minutes following the conceded goal.
The second half was a completely different story as Lazio went on the pitch with the intent of scoring and reach the qualification, something which the Roman side succeeded to do in the first ten minutes.
Rocchi converted a goal in the 47th minute following a Nastase foul on Del Nero in the penalty area and in the 54th minute Rocchi launched Pandev all alone in front of the opposing keeper and the Macedonian forward made it 2-1 for the visitors.
From then on Lazio took the match in their hands and in the 66th minute Rocchi scored his second personal goal of the match following an assist by Pandev in a repeat of the second goal.
The Lazio of the second half was too much for the Romanian champions who lasted just 45 minutes before succumbing to the Biancocelesti's strength who qualified for the next round thanks to a 4-2 aggregate. Now Lazio can look at the season in a much brighter light and hope to continue doing well in the group stage of the Champions League.
