Michael Ballack Cannot Play In Champions League

Michael Ballack has admitted that he is hurting after being left out of the Champions League squad, though he made it clear that there was no need to read more into the situation.

Ballack is expected to be back in around a month according to the German national team, something that has put the focus firmly on Chelsea for leaving him out of their Champions League squad.

The Blues have insisted that they have based their decision on fitness related issued, and Ballack has admitted he is hurting.

"I am very disappointed," he said.

However, he ruled out the rumours, and insisted that he would think about "other things" only after he was fit and back in action.

"However, I have to accept it and focus on getting healthy again. Then I can make up my mind about other things."

On the status of his ankle injury, the German skipper said: "It is now much better, but it is not like I could play again or train with the team. I can't give a prognosis just yet."

Germany expect him to be fit for the next set of Euro qualifiers, in just over a month.
