
The former German international was injured during the warm up to Bayern’s league match against Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday. Michael Rensing stepped in and kept a clean sheet to keep the Bavarians top of the league.
Kahn will definitely miss Bayern’s Uefa Cup tie with Portuguese side Belenenses on Thursday, and looks likely to have to sit out the next four to five weeks following surgery.
Michael Rensing won widespread acclaim for his performance at the Bay-Arena and will look to show the trainer and fans that he is amore than able successor to the great Oli Kahn. He is however aware that the 38 year old remains the number one for this season
“When Olli is fit, he will start again. He has earned it, and deserved to finish his career with success. My time will come” he explained.
