Toure Unhappy At Arsenal

According to The Sun, the Ivory Coast international has had enough of the favourable treatment directed at fellow defender William Gallas by the Gunners management.

Toure was overlooked for the captaincy last summer following Thierry Henry’s departure, Gallas instead getting the armband despite having only arrived at the club a year prior.

Furthermore, the France international is earning over ₤4 million-per-year, while Toure is bringing in around ₤2.6 million.

The 28-year-old believes he is being marginalised, and he could seek a shock summer exit if his demands are not met.

Meanwhile, the Gunners have stepped up their interest in Sporting Lisbon midfielder Miguel Veloso.

The Portugal international has long been a target of Manchester United, but with Sir Alex Ferguson’s priorities lying elsewhere, Wenger could swoop unopposed for the 22-year-old.

With Sporting asking for ₤24 million, Veloso would be an expensive replacement for Mathieu Flamini, who left for AC Milan on a free transfer.
